Located in the heart of Downtown Shawnee KS, we are excited to open our doors to the public on May 9th, 2024! Shawnee Music Co. is the sister location to BKS Guitars, located in the Brookside Neighborhood of Kansas City. Since 2012 BKS Guitars has been a locally owned hotspot for private music instruction, serving the Greater Kansas City area.
We believe in exceptional one-on-one private instruction for students of all ages, levels and backgrounds. Our goal is to meet students exactly where they are, whether they are picking up the guitar for the first time, or they played piano for 10 years growing up and are wanting to re-ignite their love of music. We are not a retail music store but rather a community studio with an approach that is 100% about teaching and sharing our love of music with our students. We tailor our teaching methods specifically to needs and interests of each student, whether they are excited to learn a specific style of playing with the goal of joining a band, learning a more efficient way to organize and better practice the skills they have already attained, or taking their first steps towards learning a brand new instrument!
