About Butterfly World

Step into Butterfly World and you step into nature's kaleidoscope. Green birdwings, white morphos, striped tree nymphs, and tailed oranges flutter from blossom to blossom in three giant "free-flight" aviaries filled with their native flora. The largest of these enclosures, The Tropical Rain Forest, is sixty feet high and features a waterfall, cave, and periodic "tropical rain showers". But the beauties the attraction is named for aren't the only things "in flight". Three additional aviaries are filled with showy tropical canaries, finches, and even rainbow colored lorikeets, that guests can feed by hand. Botanical Gardens, a Swinging Suspension Bridge, and a LIVE Bug Zoo, where fans of the creepier, crawlier branch of the arthropod kingdom can meet scorpions, praying mantises, and tarantulas, round out this delightful park. To that end, the museum store also features a garden center full of butterfly-attracting plants to take home as well as free butterfly gardening information.
