In business for 40 years, Byers Gymnastics Center features fun, encouraging instructors help children and teenagers realize their athletic and creative potential through gymnastic classes that emphasize safety and proper technique. During the 50-minute Parent Participation class, toddlers 3 and younger balance, roll, and spring their way through a trampoline area and giant foam pit. The 50-minute Tot class focuses on teamwork and listening skills as 3-year-olds run, cartwheel, and balance on scaled-down beams, vaults, and models of the Empire State Building.

As children continue to grow, instructors add more challenging activities to classes, such as the handstands, cartwheels, and hops introduced in the one-hour Kinder 1 class. At age 6 and older, boys and girls part ways into their respective courses, with the Girls Basic 1 class teaching a curriculum of cartwheels, bridges, and floor-dance elements, and the Boys Basic 1 class introducing the pommel horse and rings. Both the Girls and Boys Basic classes work to instill confidence in their charges, as well as upper and lower body strength, conditioning, and the heightened coordination needed to survive recess dodgeball.
