About Brazilian Cultural Center of New England
The Brazilian Cultural Center of New England sets the preservation and advancement of Brazilian culture as its primary mission. The institution is home to a group of dedicated martial artists, the Group Capoeira Camara Angola, who provide instruction in Capoeira Angola, a traditional form of Brazilian Capoeira tracing its roots to the African slaves who arrived in Brazil with the beginning of the 16th century. The center also offers traditional instrument-making workshops and drum and dance lessons conducted by members of Samba Tremeterra.
