Carolina Dive Center’s NAUI- and SDI-certified instructors lead aspiring aquatic explorers through comprehensive academic and hands-on lessons during Open Water diving-certification classes for pupils aged 10 and older. During in-class or online learning, students absorb the intricacies and science of scuba and its accompanying equipment as well as underwater environments like coral reefs and mermaid nightclubs. Pool sessions provide a comfortable space for future divers to exercise newfound scuba-equipment knowledge under the watchful eye of patient instructors. The final phase of certification occurs in the open water of a quarry, where maritime apprentices complete four checkout dives to prove their readiness for the high seas.
Students also attend boat-dive training to enhance skills for Caribbean vacations and missions to find and file down the four corners of the Earth. During quarry sessions, the class will cover how to properly enter and exit a boat as well as various safety procedures and navigation techniques to fit all types of oceanic scenarios.
