About Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens
- Dr. Raymond Webber founded Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens, opening it to the public in January 2014 after over 32 years of creation.
- The project began when he discovered an abandoned lime rock quarry over a century old in 1991, intending initially to convert it into a fishing pond.
- With meticulous effort and a small team, he transformed the swampy quarry into a botanical marvel, incorporating walkways, pools, waterfalls, pavilions, and bridges.
- Ray's passion for gardening grew alongside his creation, leading to the establishment of the non-profit Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens, Inc., which now oversees the 20-acre botanical garden. Surrounding woodlands were also donated to Conservation Florida, ensuring the protection of the area's natural beauty for future generations.
