DJ Ceramix made a name for himself by placing a slab of wet clay atop his turntable and spinning it into a beautiful vase by the end of his set. Impress the audience members of your life with today's deal: for $10, you get $25 worth of paintable pottery and more at CeramiCafe. This Groupon includes studio fees and can be used at either of CeramiCafe’s studios in Del Mar or La Mesa.
CeramiCafe presents pottery Picasos with more than 500 paintable plates, platters, cups, and a plethora of other ceramic pieces. After selecting a blank crockery canvas, artists can sketch, stencil, or stamp out a design and then paint it in using a vibrant variety of nontoxic colors.
Hard-earned spare change can be stored in a well-camouflaged piggy bank (starting at $20), and a keepsake box (starting at $18) presents the perfect hiding place for valuables such as jewelry or smaller, more valuable keepsake boxes. Adorn an adorable figurine (starting at $12) with a life-like patina, or fashion fully functional magnets, necklaces, and tiles (starting at $5 each) to add brilliance to your kitchen and yourself. When the paint splatter has settled, pieces are left to be glazed and fired by the helpful staff, and picked up five days later to find new employment in your home (rush orders are available upon request).
All of CeramiCafe’s creations are food- and microwave-safe, meaning that a hand-painted “Sorry about the air hockey incident” cup can stealthily make its way into your mother’s dwindling high-tea collection (mugs starting at $15). Aside from pottery, the studio also offers hands-on mosaic masterpieces such as frames, mirrors, and plaques, as well as hands- and feet-on clay prints, which make a long-lasting keepsake for a parent, grandparent, or beloved podiatrist.

About CeramiCafe
Inside the colorful CeramiCafe, more than 500 bare pieces of pottery await creative embellishments and an eventual trip to the kiln. Mugs, banks, figurines, and tiles become canvases for visitors, who can personalize them using provided stencils. The helpful staff glaze and fire pieces to seal in artwork and create a glossy sheen, with final products ready for debut in five days. Outside the pottery realm, in mosaic projects, artists can use glass tiles, marbles, and broken pottery to doll up picture frames, mirrors, or plaques. Meanwhile, parents can immortalize a child's early days by pressing their tiny hands or feet into a pad of clay to make a lasting print.
