A philosopher once called theater “the mask of convention over the face of society in the mirror of the unknown reflecting the rear-view of the sports car of destiny.” Simplify this theory with today’s theatrical Groupon: for $75, you get a four-ticket subscription pass, which includes one ticket for each mainstage show during the 2011 season at Chance Theater in Anaheim (a $160 value). Tickets are valid during the first three weeks of show performances.
Chance Theater's mission to encourage meaningful dialogues and discussion through provocative theater pieces continues this season. The 2011 Mainstage Series includes an impressive repertoire of spirited plays and musicals. The season kicks off in January with the West Coast premiere of Nerve, an edgy romantic comedy about modern day dating. Next on the docket is The Boy in the Bathroom, a moving musical about a man who finds safety and comfort in a commode. Jerry Springer: The Opera, inspired by the irreverent television talk show, premiers in July, while Up, a play about an altitudinally ambitious American family, closes the curtain in October.

- The set was VERY minimal, so allllll the attention was shifted on the cast on the stage. This obviously puts a lot of pressure on the performers to do their best...and trust me, they don't disappoint. – Bruce T., Yelp
- It's impossible to pinpoint the exact date or show, but at some point over the last five years, the Chance Theater became the premiere storefront theater in Orange County. – Joel Beers, OC Weekly
