At the Chicago Actors Studio, director Edward Dennis Fogell educates and encourages aspiring thespians from entry-level beginners to advanced professional emoters, as he has been doing since 1992. During the course of 10 weeks, students learn to overcome stage fright and character-building anxiety while mastering such disciplines as emotional recall, movement and voice, and delivering stirring monologues to clerks at the grocery store. Whether they’re seeking stardom on stage or screen, this course grants acting students a grasp of the fundamentals of their craft to serve as a true compass in the murky waters of the drama world. Classes for intermediate and advanced students meet Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and beginners' classes meet Mondays at the same time.
