Dr. Edgardo Zavala-Alarcon comes from a long line of Mexican doctors, a tradition he continued by becoming a prominent cardiologist in Mexico. But when his country's climate grew unstable in the 1990s, he made the tough decision to uproot his family and move to the United States. Though not an easy transition—one filled with the years-long process of becoming reaccredited as a cardiologist—Dr. Zavala-Alarcon trucked on, eventually becoming an Arizona hospital’s chief of cardiology and obtaining his certificate in cosmetic surgery. He now operates out of his own family-run clinic, where he enhances clients' natural beauty with treatments ranging from nonsurgical nose jobs and laser vein-removal treatments to liposuction and breast augmentation. His extensive knowledge of internal medicine and cardiology serves him well in the cosmetic field, as it helps decrease the usual risks associated with surgical procedures.

Inside Ciao Bella Medical Spa & Vein Clinic, patients are greeted in an elegant front lounge filled with burnt-orange walls, marbled floor tiles, and dark leather couches.
