About Circus World

Circus World began in 1884 when the Ringling Brothers began a circus operation in their home town of Baraboo, Wisconsin. Over the succeeding 34 years, they grew that small show into the largest outdoor amusement enterprise the world has ever known. When their personal attorney John M. Kelley, retired to Baraboo, he envisioned an institution that would preserve the history of the American circus located at the original winter quarters of the Ringling Bros. Circus. Circus World museum officially opened in 1959. Its 64 acres encompass the National Historic Landmark Site and many original Ringling buildings. Modern buildings and amenities support colorful exhibits, including the world’s largest collection of authentic circus wagons. The circus is brought to life in a tented circus performance complete with world-class acrobats, jugglers, aerialists, clowns, equines, dogs and elephant presentations. Other programs include Tiger Adventures, Nothing But Nonsense, Hoots n’ Toots Music Show, Kids World Circus, and guided tours of the wagon collection. Wonderful entertainment for Children of All Ages at Circus World… Wisconsin’s National Treasure.
