Allison Beardsley founded Club Pilates in 2007 as a sanctuary where she and her students could gather, share their love of Pilates, and, of course, get a great workout. In the intervening years, Club Pilates has spread to multiple locations, including Pacific Beach, and Allison's definition of Pilates has expanded to include new forms of the exercise. Now, she and her team of trainers teach eight varieties of Pilates classes, enhancing traditional Pilates workouts with exercises borrowed from ballet and yoga. They also make use of a variety of Balanced Body equipment such as reformers, springboards, and EXO chairs, devices which strengthen the core while granting exercisers the career-skill of knowing how to sit inside the giant fighting robots of the future.
