Homes are notoriously lazy, adding on rooms instead of cleaning up the ones they have and refusing to replace their shingles after a child searching for roof-candies falls through the roof. Help your house help itself with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of hardware and household goods at Cole Hardware at its Polk Street, Mission Street, Cole Street locations.
Cole Hardware began in 1959 when Dave Karp bought the Cole Street location, now the flagship store in the tight-knit family of four hardware emporiums. Run by Dave's son, each Cole Hardware location stocks classic hardware fare and almost every item on a home's birthday wish list. Pick up some potting soil ($4.99–$17.99) to nurture any plant, vegetable, or pet-worm collection. Replace an old and rusty hammer ($6.99–$34.99) or reclaim the junk drawer with a compost bin ($29.99–$49.99). Less-traditional hardware essentials such as the vintage-chic Jessie Steele apron in a cupcake print ($29.99) can also be found woven into each store's inventory. Though every store carries similar goods, each one has a slightly different specialty; read about each location here.
For any project, Cole Hardware has the honest assistance to get the ball rolling and repair the backyard fence after the humungous ball smashes through it. Cole Hardware's community partnership program contributes to well-tooled schools and sturdy community organizations, building peace of mind into any DIY effort.

About Cole Hardware
Someone walking up to Cole Hardware for the first time might think they've stumbled upon a modern art gallery instead of a hardware store. Their front window displays everything from Pollock-esque paintings in gilded frames to chandeliers built from Christmas ornaments to a fine-dining table setting re-created with only tools. In fact, all of the eye-catching installations are created using exclusively Cole Hardware merchandise.
But the displays are also a testament to how the shop has set itself apart in other ways—for nearly 100 years, Cole Hardware has been known for exceptional customer service. What started out as a one-man operation with the motto, "There are no strangers here, only friends we haven't met yet," has grown to a family of stores that also provides home repair services and commercial supplies. Their retail inventory is expansive and competitively priced thanks to backing from Ace Hardware, which has helped the company garner awards from SF Weekly and the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
