The Comedy Club Stardome has been bringing comedic talent to Birmingham since 1983, when it played host to then-unknowns Tim Allen and Sinbad. The club is currently in its third iteration, having moved, burned down, and finally been brought back to life by the necromantic arts of owner Bruce Ayers. The Stardome's opening act in 1983, veteran jester James Gregory returns to catch up with his fans and get those three dollars back from Hank. Known for ignoring the tenets of political correctness while keeping his comedy vulgarity-free, Gregory crafts knee-slapping, tail-wagging stories about crazy relatives and absurd characters, transporting audiences back to a simple time.
Chuckle junkies whose belly laughs are powered by food can fill up with an extensive menu, including beer-battered 'shrooms ($6.59) and grilled chicken breast ($13.99). Laughter lubricants include frozen cocktails ($6.50) and bottles of beer ($3.25/domestic, $3.75/premium). On-site parking is also available, with a special section reserved for clown cars.
