Our “Youth Champions” day camps are geared towards students 6-12 years of age and include instruction for both beginner and competitive students.

Students learn the foundations of the Morehouse Method. This innovative style has propelled TMFC to become one of the best youth fencing clubs in the country in just a few short years while having fun, making friends and bonding with our coaches.

Weekly Flow

  • MONDAY - Welcome and Introduction of Fencing Skills
  • TUESDAY - Building Skills and Bouting with Habits
  • WEDNESDAY - Team Event Tournament Day
  • THURSDAY - Building Skills and Bouting with Habits
  • FRIDAY - Camp Tournament and Medals

Note: Manhattan class will feature Saber only

PRE-CAMP SESSION

9:00-10:00am Early Drop Off and Morning Private Lessons by Appointment 

MORNNG SESSION

  • 9:40am-10:00am - Regular Drop Off Time
  • 10:0am-10:20am - Welcome, Warm Up and Conditioning Games
  • 10:20am-11:00am - Fencing Games and Footwork
  • 11:00am-12:00pm - Tactical Fencing Drills  

LUNCH AND BOARD GAMES 

  • 12:00pm-12:40pm - Lunch

AFTERNOON SESSION

  • 12:40pm-1:20pm - Warm-up and Conditioning Games
  • 1:20pm-3:00pm - Electric Fencing and Bouting 

POST CAMP SESSION

  • 3:00pm-4:00pm - Late Pick-Up and Private Lessons by Appointment 


FAQs:

Does My Child Need Prior Fencing Experience? 

They will not. Our camps include many students who are trying fencing for the first time. This is a great way to introduce your child to the sport!


Does My Child Need Fencing Equipment? 

No. Fencing equipment will be provided for all students during the camp. 


What Does My Child Need?

  • To pack their own lunch and snacks. We have a fridge on premises where they can keep it cold. 
  • Bring a water bottle. We try to take frequent water breaks but we also don’t want to lose a lot of teaching time 
  • Dress in athletic attire: sneakers, long athletic pants (no shorts, please) and t-shirt.
