Having amused vessel venerators for decades, cups have recently been combined with the scrumptiousness of cake, resulting in today's Groupon to Cupcake Royale. This Groupon does not apply to online orders but is valid at all five locations. Choose between two options:
- For $16, you get one dozen made-from-scratch cupcakes (a $33 value).
- For $43, you get two dozen cupcakes and a pedestal-topper package (an $88 value), which includes a compostable cardboard party pedestal with decorative ribbon and 24 toppers.
Recently named "best cupcake" on The Splendid Table, broadcast on NPR, Cupcake Royale bakes each flavor from natural and local ingredients, including hormone-free dairy products and locally raised fruit. Finish off a long lunch break with a Royale with Cheese, a pillow of dark-chocolate cake topped with cream-cheese buttercream and chocolate shavings, or nibble a salted caramel cupcake with house-made caramel buttercream. Bundle a dozen diminutive frostlings or chomp down two dozen cupcakes from your own compostable pedestal ornamented with ribbon and 24 toppers.
Cupcake Royale continually extends its goodwill into the community to fight the accursed Man and his mini-Man lackey. The bakery donates 25,000 cupcakes a year to schools and nonprofit community organizations, uses only biodegradable cups, and composts all its organic waste. For an additional fee, Cupcake Royale will deliver within a 20-mile radius of Capitol Hill for orders of two dozen or more.
