Their recent exclusion from the Winter Olympics in Vancouver has only motivated the Pacific's whales to appear even more dazzling and majestic. Today’s Groupon gets you front-row, non-Olympic coverage of these magnificent mammal-fish with a 2.5-hour whale tour through Davey's Locker Whale Watching for $19 (a $38 value). Your tour will also include binoculars. Cruises are available three times a day on weekends year-round, and on weekdays May through August (tours available twice a day on weekdays September through April). View the schedule online for specific dates and times.

Once you've hopped aboard the Ocean Explorer, a 65-foot–long ship with ample spy space on the upper-level observation deck, your Davey's Locker Whale Watching tour will track the migration of gray whales as they return to coastal waters in time for the natural world's answer to spring break—mating season. Besides the more cetaceous sightings, it's also common to spot dolphins, sea lions, porpoises, harbor seals, and marine birds during the course of the tour. The captain has also promised the gold doubloon that's been hammered into the ship's mainmast to the first person who espies the white whale, though changing migratory patterns make this a rare occurrence. Snacks are available onboard.

Though most people agree that being swallowed by a whale is a transcendental, life-changing experience, simply seeing the whale is also quite nice. Don your Shave the Whales T-shirt and dust off your dependable high school catchphrase—“Goodness, whales!”—with today's Groupon.
