Daytona Ice Arena hones hockey skills and opens its NHL-regulation-sized ice sheet to the public for recreational skate sessions. The lesson package includes four Learn to Skate lessons, which take place on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each session includes 30 minutes of group instruction and 30 minutes of supervised practice, in which axel apprentices can master their Lutz-loop combinations or use their foot-blades to carve bas-relief portraits of Wayne Gretzky. Students also get rental skates for every class along with four public-skating passes to show off their new moves.
Ice lords already skilled in camel spins and the art of standing on two feet can nab a pass to one of the 35,500-square-foot arena's public skate sessions. The deal also includes skate rental and a voucher for a pizza slice, chips, and fountain drink at the Penalty Box Sports Pub, an eatery that overlooks the ice and has four big-screen, high-definition TVs. Ice kings and queens can win prizes with a live DJ on weekends or glide under dancing lights to bumpin' beats any day of the week while dreaming of future Olympic medals and disputes with Russian judges.

About Daytona Ice Arena
Daytona Ice Arena sends skaters glissading across an ultra-smooth, NHL regulation-size sheet of ice. Bleacher seating with room for more than 300 spectators looms behind the glass on one side of the rink, and above, a snack bar overlooking the facility doles out refreshments. While escaping Florida's heat and the panhandling paddleboards that come with it, visitors to the frosty, 35,000-square-foot arena can soak up extra relaxation at the Penalty Box Sports Pub, which accompanies elevated views of the ice with an arsenal of big-screen TVs. The building—located just minutes from the beach—buzzes daily during public skating sessions but also plays host to a medley of other ice-tied triumphs including learn-to-skate programs, birthday parties, and youth and adult hockey leagues.
