The building’s owner, Jim Haertel, leads groups out to the courtyard to pose for pictures with a statue of Captain Frederick Pabst before heading to the guest center. The tour winds through the former Pabst corporate offices, where Jim recounts the history of the 150-year-old building. Tours run Friday through Sunday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Located inside a brick-hewn building reminiscent of a grand castle, the Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery recounts the history of the company’s former brewery, which dates back to 1844. Visitors tour Pabst’s corporate offices, take photos with a statue of Captain Frederick Pabst, and drink tall pints of the brewery’s concoctions.
