Adventures Unlimited guides rafters of all experience levels through the churning waters of the Ocoee River. The Classic Middle Ocoee River whitewater-rafting trip sends aquanauts plunging through 5 miles of Class III and IV rapids on 14-foot self-bailing rafts. Up to six hydro-explorers man each raft, spending two hours paddling past rocks, sliding down falls, and playing patty-cake with fish. CPR- and first-aid-certified guides captain each aquatic expedition, preparing rafters with a 90-minute pre-trip briefing and decking them out with helmets, PFDs, paddles, and the know-how required to safely scuttle down frothing waterways. All rafters should dress accordingly for the season and bring a complete change of clothes and a dry pair of shoes for after the trip.
Paddlers can opt to relive each rapid with a photo CD that catalogs 10–15 shots of the excursion. Additionally, in the Weekend Escape option, pairs settle in after the trip for a night at a secluded campsite nestled within the park’s 31-acre campus to sleep in a tent and build a fire to ward off Bigfoot from rummaging through the cooler.
