About Delaware River Railroad Excursions

Delaware River Railroad Excursions helps guests journey back to a time when steam-powered locomotives criss-crossed the country. Now, however, the organization runs New Jersey's only operating steam locomotive—in part to educate passengers about the history of the New York, Susquehanna & Western railroad. The rest of the time, it's a fun excursion for families from the area.

On weekends from May to October, passengers pile into cars and railway originals. The regular season features typical trips along the Delaware River as well as special jaunts to a corn maze, a mine where you can pan for gemstones, or a winery. And around July Fourth, kids are delighted when the locomotive turns into Thomas the Tank Engine. Seasonal trips include The Easter Bunny Train Ride, The Polar Express, Warren County Winery Train, Ol' Susquehanna Mine Train, Corn Maze Train, and The Great Pumpkin Train.

The Delaware River Railroad Excursions are operated entirely by the volunteers of the New York Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society Inc., and is a non-profit New Jersey corporation with the express goal of operating a "living" transportation museum.
