This deal also gets you half off a bottle of wine on Sunday through Wednesday.
Having served scrumptious pizza and flavorful pasta for nearly 30 years, Delia's Mediterranean Grill & Brick Oven Pizza has garnered a loyal following based on its Old World entrees and hospitable atmosphere. Delia's menu is packed with entrees concocted from traditional family recipes, starting with tasty pizza-pies. Delia’s has a secret recipe for its dough, which is “chewier, sweeter and thicker than the thin style that's in vogue,” according to the Washington Post. Try the Famagusta pizza, baked with halloumi cheese, caramelized onions, and fresh tomatoes ($11–$15). Or, forget circular edibles and mine for delicious chunks of sausage in the rigatoni norcina, where penne pasta and a cream sauce provide sanctuary for Italian sausage and mushrooms ($14). For dessert, there’s the coppa spagnola, vanilla and cherry gelato swirled together underneath a palatable pile of Amarena cherries ($6).
Complete the Mediterranean experience by singing a stirring rendition of “You’re a Grand Ole’ Focaccia” and sipping one of the Delia's sensuous wines, such as Spain's Tapena Garnacha ($28 for a bottle). Within Delia's modern décor and clean dining room, you'll find a staff willing and ready to recommend signature dishes and suggest wine pairings. A reservation is recommended if you’re dining on Friday or Saturday.
Dine-in only.
Reviews
The Washington Post reviewed Delia's Mediterranean Grill & Brick Oven Pizza. Yelpers give the restaurant an average of four stars, and OpenTable reviewers give it an average of 3.9 stars:
- The dining room is more polished than many restaurants with entrees priced in the teens, but not so fancy that you'd feel uncomfortable stopping in after a movie at the AMC Hoffman Center across the street. – Julia Beizer, Washington Post
- Great find for dinner in the Alexandria area. I was looking for a nice place that was not too pricey to go out to dinner with my husband and children... Food was excellent and the portions almost too big but the quality was very good. We will be back! – OpenTable.com reviewer who dined on 8/28/2010
