It's hard to beat Devil's Head Resort in the summer. Unless, of course, you're talking about Devil's Head Resort in the winter—in which case it's probably a draw. Regardless of the season, Devil's Head summons guests with resort lodging nestled among scenery and terrain suitable for a host of outdoor activities. Two 18-hole golf courses await in the summer, both defined by artful elevation changes and water hazards. The landscape is also a haven for mountain biking, with miles of single track trails that bob and weave over the surrounding hills (lift access is available for bikers on Saturdays in July and August). Two outdoor tennis courts host matches and practice sessions near the resort, which sits two miles from the quaint town of Merrimac on the shores of Lake Wisconsin.

In the winter, the same undulating terrain transforms into a 30-run ski resort serviced by ten lifts. A healthy variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs populate the mountain, which features 500 feet of vertical rise. Most of the mountain is also open for night skiing, so guests can ski under the stars without having to glue candelabras to their ski tips.
