To function properly, the human body requires a steady stream of nutrients, sunlight, and compliments from other species about its opposable thumbs. Use your bendable digits to provide nutrients with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get $50 worth of seafood, brews, and more at Dockside Restaurant on Granville Island. Dockside dishes up an ocean-friendly seafood menu in casually elegant environs with exquisite views of False Creek through floor-to-ceiling windows. Witness the making of pan-seared Pacific wild halibut ($29) in the open kitchen surrounded by a 50-foot aquarium full of lively fish and lifeless mecha-fish. Heartier appetites hanker for the braised rack-of-lamb, bred on the open range and served alongside a polenta potato cake ($35), or nine-hour roasted prime rib ($28–$34). Mid-day meal-takers graze upon Asian Hunan kung pao free-range chicken with stir-fried vegetables ($17) while sampling one of Dockside's eight in-house brews.

- We enjoyed the welcoming feel of the restaurant - appropriate lighting, comfortable seating – it is like a comfortable dining room. We will return again as the restaurant has once again met our expectations. The salmon was nicely prepared and the lamb was well presented and excellent on the tongue. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable. – OpenTable reviewer who dined on 25/11/2010
- The wine list, though not long, has some thoughtful selections and the service is certainly friendly. – Vancouver Magazine
