Randy Herbert is an American Drummer/Percussionist, Multi-Instrumentalist and Composer. He is the founder and director of the music education programs at Double Forte Studios located in Portland, Oregon.

Randy makes learning fun and exciting! He teaches many students of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. His comprehensive approach to music education focuses on fundamental concepts for drums, world/ethnic percussion, beginning guitar, bass, piano, voice & songwriting. As an educator, his goal is to provide students with the necessary tools to develop and master the skill set needed for their particular instrument.

A fixture in music scenes across the western United States for the better part of the last quarter-century, Randy has worked with a wide range of musicians in the alternative rock/electro-pop, funk/jazz & blues genres. As a drummer, he has proven fluent in all western musical styles & beyond. His musical contributions over the years have earned him praise from the music community for his broad vocabulary & instinctive ability to adapt to any musical environment. Randy’s unique touch & feel on the drum kit has given him a distinct voice within music, not only as a first call live & studio player but as one of the pre-eminent music educators in the Northwest. In addition to his work as a drummer, Randy is also a multi-instrumentalist & composer. He is active in writing & producing music for his solo projects & collaborative ensembles.
