With Elevate Gymnastics Academy's cavernous gym, gymnasts have plenty of room to complete tumbling passes, fly through the air, or, if they're young enough, simply run around burning off excess energy. Primary-colored mats and vaults pepper the facility, where veteran coaches train students from as young as walking toddlers to as old as teens.

The space has been a gymnastics academy since 1972. In fact, current co-owner Eli Rodriguez took his very first gymnastics class on the premises at age 8. Currently, though, Elevate's recreational classes and team practices have a distinctly modern tone, emphasizing form and fun in equal measure. They cover all the elite events, too, such as bar work, balance-beam routines, and competitive leotard-wearing.
