Deep in Extreme Laser Tag Myrtle Beach's multilevel arena, fog begins to permeate the dark room, which is lit only by glowing neon lights. But rather than running scared, competitors are relieved—fog makes hiding easier. And they'll need any advantage they can get while dodging beams from up to 60 fellow competitors as they scramble up ramps, slip through corridors, and duck behind barricades in order to drive their team to victory. In the meantime, those waiting on the sidelines aren't relegated to twiddling their thumbs or using the thumb-twiddling app on their phones; they keep tabs on the action on flat-screen monitors, which also show players' current scores. And they can also escape to the arcade for a round of air hockey or retreat to the lounge for pizza and free WiFi.
