In order to satisfy their inexplicable urge to eat fire, Cro-Magnons would have to wait for a lightning-stricken woolly mammoth to wander into their flame-craving mouths. Celebrate humanity's conquest of the elements with today's deal: for $49, you get an introductory fire-eating class (a $100 value) at Fire Pixie Entertainment. Classes are scheduled for the work-friendly time slots of Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 11 a.m., and they usually run about an hour. Additional classes will be added based on demand.
Before defying late-eighties PSAs by playing with fire, students will undergo a comprehensive introductory lesson in fire theory to boost confidence and comfort while whetting a Helios-inspired appetite. Prospective fire-eaters will learn the most important safety measures and techniques. By the end of this course, students receive their distinguished extinguished diploma upon consumption of their first scorching torch.
Fire Pixie's fire-bellied instructors, led by Darrell and Erin St. Blaine, have been seen in a GMC commercial, entertained on cruise ships, and were recently featured on What Would Brian Boitano Make on the Food Network. They are experienced professionals who prioritize safety throughout the entire teaching process. In a classroom as intimate as candlelight, each session hosts no more than six students at a time. This allows students to receive safe and personal attention as they learn Erin's mantra: only you can prevent boring parties.

- Erin's a wonderful instructor. She breaks things down in different ways to suit different learning styles and is truly invested in helping students learn. Her repertoire of moves is well-rounded and balanced, with emphasis on foundations and technique that allow students to build moves of their own. Recommended for people who want to learn fire spinning or fire breathing! – girlpurple, Citysearch
- A fire show enthusiast and performer, I can testify that Fire Pixie is well ahead of the pack with respect to technical expertise, creativity, and safety-consciousness. I have been front-and-center to several Fire Pixie performances, and I've been mesmerized each time. – woundedrhino, Citysearch
- I took all four of her classes and went from raw beginner bonking myself in the head with beanbag poi to spinning fire and LED poi everywhere I go. She makes it fun while breaking it all down, and is great whether you want to just learn for fun or want to perform yourself someday. My only complaint is that I wish she'd teach more classes so I could keep going. – docbug, Citysearch
