Airborne pairs enjoy a new perspective from above the spotlighted Superdome to the historic French Quarter, which hugs the twisty Mississippi River. During each 30-minute flight—which includes taxi to and from the runway—Flight Academy of New Orleans’s knowledgeable guides talk about the city’s cultural and historical touchstones. Flights are conducted daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and flights that are canceled because of poor weather conditions will be rescheduled for a later date.
Each of the three flight lessons in the Fundamentals of Flying package includes one hour of ground instruction and one hour of flight instruction in a C152. All of these hours can be applied toward a private pilot rating if you decide to continue your training. Participants also receive a Flight Maneuvers Handbook and fill out their first flight log.
