While fluency in the Japanese language is hardly a requirement for dining at Fuji at Assembly, it's good to know at least one foreign word before entering: omakase. Translated to English, the term means "I'll leave it to you." In this case, that "you" is a Japanese chef, who selects from the restaurant's daily-delivered ingredients to create exclusive meals for six reservation-only seats.

But eating at Fuji isn't just for that small crowd. Other diners can select from the full menu: appetizers such as spicy sichuanese chicken and lobster rangoon; sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi; and entrees from rib-eye teriyaki to mango shrimp. They enjoy these meals in a dining room that, despite its generally modern feel, is covered by reclaimed wood—some of which dates back more than 100 years.
