Experience the excitement of being in the studio audience for Iron Chef without being in the studio. For $10, today's Groupon gets you $25 worth of Thai, tempura, sushi, teppanyaki, and drinks at Fuji Hana, famous for entertaining its customers with a culinary stage show. Fuji Hana's menu has something for everyone, from show-stopping steaks to vegetarian curries.
A teppanyaki-style dinner is like thrilling dinner theater for lovers of cooking television, pyrotechnics, and joggling. You and your date, family, or consequential strangers are seated around a table-top grill, where an entertaining chef prepares your food with musical instruments and nonchalant flair. Whether your chef stacks and ignites a flaming onion volcano or catches an egg unbroken in the top of his tall hat, you won't be able to take your eyes off the crafty action or suppress your suspicion that they may be actual wizards. Each amusing chef has a set of tricks, from impressive knife juggling to succulent shrimp tossing. Teppanyaki dinners are served with onion soup, ginger salad, shrimp appetizer, vegetables, steamed rice, and sherbet or vanilla ice cream for dessert. Try the mouthwatering filet mignon ($23) or a duet entree such as teriyaki chicken and shrimp ($22).
If you'd prefer more traditional Japanese and Thai cuisine, skip the tableside show and start off with hiyashi wakame (cold seaweed in seasoned vinegar with sesame seed, $5) or a sushi appetizer (chef's choice of six pieces of nigiri, $9). Warm up with a pleasing green curry (with bell pepper, bamboo shoot, basil, and tofu, $15) or enjoy the spicy basil (stir-fried with fresh crushed chilli, green bean, bell pepper, onion, basil, and choice of chicken, beef, pork, or tofu, $13). Order a spicy tuna roll (with kimchee sauce, $7) at the handsome sushi bar, or get the signature double crab roll (crab tempura, cucumber scallion, avocado, and spicy mayo, topped with crab meat, tobiko, and black masago, $12) delivered to a table for two beside wood and etched-glass screens. Prices and menu items may vary slightly depending on the location.

The Amazing Food-Doug
After the intense culinary action at Fuji Hana , catch The Amazing Food-Doug on public-access channel K15 for a double dose of excitement. Rejected from both cooking and magician college, The Amazing Food-Doug chose to take his meager performance-cooking talents directly to the people. Here’s a transcript:
- Good afternoon everyone. Is everyone doing good? I hope everyone is doing good. Okay. Okay, we can…we can probably do this. What do I have here? long silence That’s right, it is an egg! But watch this! Alakascramble! Oh, man! Okay. Okay, I guess that bowl was kind of on the edge of the table. Mark, did you leave the bowl on the edge of the table? Alright, um. I think I have some vegetables, here somewhere.
The Amazing Food-Doug airs weekday nights at 7 p.m., followed by Mark and Doug’s DVD Review Circus and the ongoing improvised-documentary series Mark Sucks: Screw Mark.
