Centrally Located Hotel with Chula Vista Water-Park Passes
It’s highly likely that the Wisconsin Dells has more water slides per capita than any other spot on the planet. The multitude of waterparks in the area includes more than 20 indoor spots that stay open all year round. Just a few miles south of town, you can play in one such park at the Atlantis Waterpark Hotel. The onsite Aqua Kingdom is equipped with two 40-foot-long tunnel slides as well as tot-friendly spray features. You can go for a soak in the whirlpool or perfect your backstroke in the lap pool.
With your stay, you’ll also receive free passes to the massive Chula Vista water park located 5 miles away. Here you’ll find 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor attractions, including a high-speed water coaster, a 30-foot vertical plunge, and one of the tallest cyclone slides in America.
After a day spent water-park hopping, towel off and retire to your room. In a Mermaid suite, the aquatic theme continues with an en suite whirlpool, a shell-shaped headboard, and mermaid-themed artwork. The two-bedroom Neptune suite also has a whirlpool as well as a balcony and fireplace.
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin: Picturesque Spot Flush with Family Entertainment
Before the Dells became synonymous with water parks and amusement rides, the Midwestern destination's claim to fame was its scenery. Visitors in the mid-1940s trickled in to see the craggy rock formations flanking the Wisconsin River. Today, the bluffs—or dells—are still visible from the downtown area, which is filled with kid-friendly attractions such as mini-golf courses, go-kart tracks, and candy shops.
There’s also a Bavarian-themed village where German restaurants serve schnitzel and lager as musicians perform glockenspiel covers of Kraftwerk. The H. H. Bennett Studio museum recounts the history of the Dells through the life of the 19th-century landscape photographer whose work originally attracted tourists to the area.
Just down the road in the town of Baraboo, Victorian buildings and quaint shops lie on the outskirts of Devil's Lake State Park, an ideal spot for rock climbing on 500-foot bluffs. Fewer than 20 miles away, 36 skiing and snowboarding trails snake through 160 acres at Cascade Mountain, which rises up to 1,280 feet in elevation.
