Boutique Beachfront Hotel with Award-Winning Spa
"When guests walk into The Omphoy, they feel like they can exhale," says Steve Prial, director of sales at The Omphoy Ocean Resort. “They can tell this is a place to relax." Perched on the ivory shores of Palm Beach, this boutique hotel nurtures a zen-like vibe with minimalist decor and breathtaking water views. Although the relaxing atmosphere pervades the entire resort, it’s most prevalent at The Spa at the Omphoy, which was named the No. 1 Top Resort Spa in a 2012 Condé Nast Traveler readers' poll, which praised the spa for its treatments, staff, and facilities.
The hotel also has an indulgent side, best found past the floor-to-ceiling windows at the onsite Malcolm's restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Michael Wurster. The kitchen churns out exquisite seafood dishes, from sea-urchin custard with lobster royale and caviar to coffee-rubbed tuna served with clams and chorizo. To cap off the night, enjoy specialty cocktails at The O-Bar, a lounge adorned with exotic Balinese art that stays open until 2 a.m.
Many of The Omphoy Ocean Resort’s spacious guest rooms have balconies or terraces that overlook the Atlantic or the meditation garden. Savor the ocean breeze from four-poster beds draped with fish netting, or head to one of three pagodas at the meditation garden to revive your energy during a morning yoga session.
In the morning, crowds gather at the hotel's infinity pool, where waiters deliver towels, snacks, and tropical drinks. Lounge comfortably in one of the poolside cabanas, or grab a lounge chair under a shady palm. Guests also have access to a private beach and can explore the Atlantic on kayaks, sailboats, and waverunners for an additional fee.
Staff Q&A: Palm Beach, Florida
Monika S. is an account manager for Groupon Getaways. She likes movies and tacos. Below, she shares her thoughts on Palm Beach.
Describe your perfect day here.
My perfect day would be one that was not productive. I would spend the day outside by the pool with a drink, enjoying the weather. I would then grab a nice seafood dinner outside and watch the sunset.
What's the best thing you ate on the trip, and where did you get it?
Surf 'n' turf on Worth Avenue.
Describe your most interesting encounter here.
I saw fashion designer Vera Wang in a store and then saw her twice more when we went to other places on the same day.
What was the most stressful moment of your visit, and how can others avoid the same thing?
My advice would be to not set an agenda. Palm Beach is best experienced relaxing and spending time outside. Just go with the flow.
What makes this place one of your favorite getaways?
The beautiful weather and the palm trees. It's the perfect place to go to when the local weather is at its worst. You can come here with your family, or you can make it a getaway for you and your friends. No matter what you're looking for, you'll be able to find it here.
