Buffalo, New York: Chicken-Wing Capital with Rich Railroad History

Buffalo is the second-largest city in New York, but it’s second to none when it comes to its namesake buffalo wings. Though the pioneering restaurant’s identity is subject to debate, there’s no doubt about Buffalo’s status as the capital of wingdom. To sample the city’s most famous export, head to the Anchor Bar or Duff’s Famous Wings.

Buffalo was once one of the biggest railroad hubs in the country and has several museums dedicated to celebrating those glory days. Visit the Iron Island Museum to get a feel for how the railroad shaped the city. History buffs will also want to check out the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, also known as the Buffalo History Museum. Housed in a neoclassical building along Scajaquada Creek, it has exhibits on the War of 1812, the Erie Canal, and the Pan-American Exposition held on the museum grounds in 1901.

Wyndham This is an awesome place to stay. Rooms are cleaned. Staff is friendly especially Randy and Bethany at front desk. Also Shelby, Leo and Mitchell the bellboys are always willing too drive you anywhere. I've stayed here many times over the last couple years having to go to Roswell. And I would recommend this place to everyone if you ever have to stay in Buffalo this is the place to stay!!

Worst Hotel Ever Mold all over the room, wallpaper was peeling. We were not even able to spend the night and had to book a different hotel. By far the worst property I have ever stayed at. Do not bother even considering staying at this place, find a different hotel.

There’s no grand This was the worst experience my wife and I have ever had. The service was horrible. We were told that the lounge was open with food available until 1am. That there was a breakfast buffet starting at 830am and a bistro for coffee opened at 6am. Well after returning from a local concert (11pm) the bartender said he already called last call for food and that he was going to call last call for the bar soon. I told him what we were told and he agreed to take a food order. We ordered food and drinks. After 15-20 minutes I asked if he forgot our drinks he said oh yeah what did you want again. Food came out and it was literally room temperature. I ordered another drink and after another 15 minutes I asked if he forgot again. He became very rude and unprofessional I showed him the sheet we received at check in stating the loung was opened till 1am. He insisted that he was doing us a favor by staying open and if we didn’t like it we could go back to our room. Enough on that you get the picture At 830am I went to the lobby to get coffee and discovered there wasn’t anything open to get a cup of coffee and was told the buffet wasn’t going to open at all and the bistro might be open by 9 Needless to say we packed up and got out of there with absolutely no plans to go back oh yeah it was the first time staying at a hotel that I had to pay $10 to park on their property. Go figure So if you are ever in the area I suggest you go somewhere where they will leave the light on then staying ate this horrible hotel. Never been so disappointed
