Best hotel in York! This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. It’s very clean and the staff is so nice. The pool is wonderful and the location is right across the beach. It’s perfect honestly. I love coming up here to stay! It’s so wonderful and it’s so close to short sands beach as well.

Fantastic Fall getaway We have been coming here to The Anchorage every fall for over 20 years. The location is just perfect-right across from Long Sands Beach and a short car ride to many nearby towns (Kittery, Ogunquit, Wells) with lots of shops and restaurants . We have stayed in both the Main Building and The Atrium. As much as we love the view from the 3rd floor Main Building, we definitely prefer the Atrium. We booked a room with a partial view, and it was great, especially from our private 3rd floor balcony. Love being able to see the beach and my favorite lighthouse, The Nubble Lighthouse. The room was large, updated, very clean, had a huge bathroom, comfy queen beds, and was so much quieter than the Main Building. The staff we interacted with were all very nice, especially the young lady who checked us in. I wish I could remember her name-we met her again to get more coffee for the room and she was just as pleasant. We did not use either indoor pool, but both were busy with families swimming, which was nice to see.
We love our yearly fall vacation to The Anchorage and can’t imagine going somewhere else!

Nice Beach stay! The Staff and the Views are amazing here! You truly can't beat the location of Anchorage Inn. It's right across the road from Long Sands and the Surf and Sun restaurant. However, being across the road does mean you lose some of the wave crashing sound and view. Some rooms also have obstructed views! The rooms were clean but dated. The beds were comfortable but small and somewhat bare. The balcony floor wiggled a bit in places and the carpet on the balcony had some wear and tear. There is only one elevator and it is not centered so it can be very far from your room. The snack bar/market was well stocked and reasonably priced. The pools were very nice. A bus full of senior travelers came in right before we did but the staff kept their cool and had a lovely demeanor. Overall a nice play to stay in York Beach.
