Hotel at a Glance: Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki

Just the word “Hawaii” is bound to bring up visions of crashing waves and hanging ten, and the Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki more than embraces Hawaii’s surfer reputation. In place of artwork, wooden surfboards adorn the walls, while palm tree accents conjure up instant good vibes. When you’re ready to hit the waves—or simply catch a nap on the sand—you can head over to nearby Waikiki Beach.

  • Ultimate relaxation: If days on the beach aren’t enough to de-stress you completely, treat yourself to a massage at Salon Akua.
  • Fuel up: Whether you’re up early for the waves or opt for a lazier morning, you can wake up with a cup of coffee in your room. Or, visit the onsite café, JP café, where guests receive a 10% discount.
  • The most important meal of the day is complimentary at the continental breakfast bar, located at the onsite restaurant, Aloha Bistro.
  • Take a dip at the outdoor pool.
  • Capture the sunset, and then upload it for the world to see with the hotel’s high-speed WiFi.

Waikiki, Honolulu: White-Sand Beaches, World-Class Surfing, and Luxury Entertainment

When they’re not surfing or sunbathing on Waikiki’s beach, most travelers explore the area’s busy avenues lined with everything from upscale boutiques and nightclubs to craft booths and street performers. Other attractions include the Honolulu Zoo, which houses exotic and endangered species such as sumatran tigers and white-handed gibbons, and the Waikiki Aquarium, where more than 3,500 creatures of the Pacific glide throughout glassed-in galleries.

Also nearby is one of Hawaii’s most recognizable natural landmarks, Diamond Head State Monument—a 300,000-year-old saucer formed by a single eruption. Hikers can walk along a trail where molten lava once smoldered to ascend to the crater’s 560-foot-tall lip.

Great Place to Stay! This was our second time staying here. The first time was last year. I had reservations for Ohana East down the street but they were doing noisy jackhammered renovations (again).I had noted Aqua Aloha Surf before, so we ended up staying here. Everything is great but limited parking. The beds are super thick and comfortable. We stayed in the back so there was no street noise. The front desk folks are really friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We will stay here again!

First Hawaiian vacation My husband and I stayed here for our Hawaiian vacation. We booked through an Air B and B. My husband and I stayed in room 510... a corner room, wonderful views. We loved waking up and watching the sunrise. (We're from Chicago and we are 5 hours ahead of Hawaii, so 5am here is 10am Chicago, we never really adjusted to the time change lol). I read previous reviews about the air conditioning in the building not getting extremely cold, so when ours did the same, it wasn't a deal breaker. Our host provided a fan so it was fine. Our room was in walking distance (3 minute walk) of the Waikīkī market and ABC store which sells alcohol, snacks, souvenirs, etc., across the street from a coffee shop and restaurant. The beach is probably a 5 minute walk. Our hosts were wonderful, if we needed them, they were a phone call or an app message away. A few things our room needed, get the ac checked so it can get the room extremely cold not just cool, bigger garbage can for the kitchen, the one provided is perfect for a bathroom, but 2 water bottles completely filled the garbage can. More toilet paper, 3 rolls for 2 adults for 7 days is not enough same for paper towels. They provided a pot and a skillet, but no tongs or spatula. Couldn't make pancakes. Made spaghetti, but no strainer. We also only had 1 hand towel. We had 2 bath towels and 2 face towels, but only 1 hand towel. These things are not deal breakers, We would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful trip. It was our first time visiting Hawaii and it won't be our last. Mahalo
