Phoenix, Arizona: Bustling Metropolis and Native American Culture Surrounded by Desert

Though the topography of the Phoenix area is all desert, it is by no means desolate. Camelback Mountain is a city park area with scenic trails that wind past boulders and red-sandstone formations; climb to the very top for a view of the entire city. Or hit the themed trails at the Desert Botanical Garden filled with Southwestern flora such as huge Sonoran cacti and other moisture-hoarding succulents. Either way, plan hikes in the early morning or twilight hours to catch the most stunning sunlit views and stay cool.

For an in-depth look at the cultures of Arizona’s indigenous population, browse the 12 exhibition galleries and sculpture garden at the Heard Museum. The collection’s nearly 40,000 pieces of art range from 500 Hopi katsina dolls to a full-size Pueblo oven. In nearby Scottsdale, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West was the renowned prairie-style architect’s winter home as well as a campus for his architecture school.

Only Redeemjng Thing is the Water Park Biggest Attraction is Water Park I booked this as a gift for my daughter-in-law to bring the grandkids here. Coming and going from the main parking lot is literally like being in a sardine can. Tons of people no places to park going around and around in the parking lot till you can find a place in the 115° heat. Now let’s talk about the room, this room is so old and dated there’s no way I would ever stay here, had it have not been for the water park. I will say that it’s clean. I actually did not stay the night here, but I met them here so I was in the room. The room is semi dark and dated, and there’s no microwave. Another annoying feature is that they don’t let you check in until 6 PM, really? You pay top dollar and you can’t check in until 6 PM and check out is 11 and they don’t allow late check out at least right now they’re not allowing it. Next time, I’ll definitely book them another room to come take a little staycation. The waterpark is very nice. Food is absolutely outrageous. I think it said for a piece of avocado toast. It was $19. Any other breakfast do you wanna order is between 25 and $27 like that is insane. We are not eating here, but hopefully their food is good enough to claim that kind of price tag .

It wasn’t as good as the last time we stayed The last time we were here it felt like a resort. This time we felt like it was a place where the public gets to mix with the people who spend $$$ to relax and unwind with their families. Almost seems like Arizona Grand is really trying to get the most $ out of Arizona. We normally stay at the Waldorf Astoria for our end of summer staycation, but we decided to come here, because it was something the kids enjoyed a few years back. I have NEVER waited in line to go Into a water park that was apart of my resort stay ever in my time, and we have explored many resorts. We ended our stay as if it was our last at Arizona Grand, because I believe it will be. You should Absolutely Advertise that you thrive on Resort pass. So those who spend a decent amount understand that they will be sharing the amenities with an abundance of daycation-ers, with no perks to call their own, like early access to the water park or late access even! Other than that, they fireworks were great and the rooms were comfortable

Waterpark Fun! The rooms were clean and comfy, a TV for the kids in the front and a TV in our room also. We stayed here because of the waterpark. A nice staycation! Stay was friendly giving us rides to the park and the wave pool was so fun and refreshing. It was just right for our young kids.
