Spokane, Washington: Riverfront Park near the Rocky Mountains
Spokane is Washington’s second-largest city, but it manages to stay in touch with its green side. In fact, the town’s motto is “Near nature. Near perfect.” Throughout Spokane, you’ll find tons of parks and gardens as well as the Spokane River, which flows through downtown. And then there’s the thundering Spokane Falls at Riverfront Park. The 100-acre public green space also features a century-old carousel, an opera house, and an outdoor Ice Palace that’s open for skating from October through March. There’s a host of recreational opportunities just outside of Spokane as well. You can go boating and fishing on Lake Coeur d'Alene across the Idaho border (it’ll take you about an hour to get there), and the nearby Rocky Mountains offer unparalleled skiing, biking, and hiking.

Clean, Comfortable, Friendly, Quiet It was great for several reasons: First, I saved more than $100/night over my other usual choice; secondly, their breakfast arrangement with the Denny’s right out their door was excellent; thirdly, the staff were all friendly & helpful, & I really appreciate that, especially when arriving late & tired!
My room was clean, comfortable, & quiet! It even had a Keurig, which is an awesome plus! Breakfast is great, too, because you can choose from their breakfast room for quick, grab & go items—or you can take your breakfast voucher & get a FREE HOT breakfast from Denny’s right there, by choosing 3 items & a free small drink—OR, look over the full menu, & choose to take $7.00 off, which is what I did—& the Ultimate Omelette here didn’t disappoint! It was the BEST omelette I’ve had anywhere!
Next time I’m in the Spokane area, this is where I’ll be staying—no question!

Just ok, not worth the money. I’ll start with the positives. Beds were comfortable. Fairly clean. Breakfast at Dennys was good. Now the not so positives. Very very noisy. Can hear everyone in the hallway and room up above. Very dark in the rooms. Very small bathrooms. It’s close off the freeway, but very hard to find as it is tucked behind the Dennys and Motel 6. Bathroom is very small. No elevator. When I booked online I said we needed a 1st floor room if there was no elevator. When we got there an no elevator and our room was on 2nd floor. If you are needing a place to just stop and sleep it would do in a pinch, but there are better places for the money in the Spokane Valley.

Marginal Room is nowhere near what the pics promise. Just like a Motel 6. Clean. But that’s it. For $175 on a Friday night, it was a real disappointment. Although paid for through Travelocity, I incurred another pending charge through the hotel. Had to call to have that charge released. Ratty furniture. No window security on first floor. Dingy hallway. No breakfast (the Denny’s coupon is inconvenient).
