Nice size suite. Quiet and relaxing.

Very nice facility with plenty of things to do for adults and children. What amazed me the most was the cleanliness of the whole facility. Will go again.

We had a king bed, a queen Murphy bed and they put a rollaway bed in the room as well. Plenty of space for me and my 3 child

Red Hat Society for the week This is one of the best places to go for a group of 12 ladies from the Red Hat Society! We had our names on the door, we had the best treatment of any place we've ever stayed. We plan a trip every year and this was our second time there. Thank you, Missy, you made me look like a "Rock Star"!!! and it was all your help.

Berlin Resort- Bestest hotel ever! Our church group was a bit bummed out when we found out that the hotel we had hoped to stay at for our trip to Holmes County was sold out, and a sister property would be our new place to bed down. :( THANK YOU FOR BEING SOLD OUT, ORIGINAL HOTEL! Berlin Resort absolutely must be the winnah of the " Niftiest hotel to stay in for a group of oldsters " award! Let me tell you why... The resort is so easy to traverse. Elevators are on jet stream. The key cards work first time, every time. No half a dozen attempts to gain access to your room there! The rooms are gorgeous! Microwave, coffee machine, USB ports, bright lighting, mini-fridge that is already on, thank you very much! Mounted flatscreen TV, no hassle air conditioner, and, drum roll please, a spacious balcony overlooking the miles of property detailing such as walking trails, pitch and putt golfing, two koi ponds with a plethora of hungry fishies awaiting your purchase of food from a quarter grabbing machine, as well as a ' mini village" just waiting for visits from fascinated kidlets. The beds! Lay down and Zonk, you are sleepin'. Three pillows on each queen bed was a nice touch. Toss in a gazebo and night time fire pits and that defines what Berlin Resort is all about. Ah, but the real strength of this place is not the physical properties, but rather, the people that run the show. I will challenge you, dear reader, to find a more pleasant group of humanity found at any hotel. Graduates of Smile College, obviously, and more than willing to answer the multitude of questions thrown at them by our group. They were even willing to chit chat a little. even while they were performing their tasks! The bathroom set-up, of all things, deserves some mention here. Clever to have a separate washbasin from the other section; featuring a washbasin, toilet and step-in shower, sporting an easy to operate shower mechanism. Believe me, that step- in feature sure beats the heck out of a shower where my old bones had to climb into a tub. On to the breakfast. This is not one of those el cheapo continental breakfasts! In a lovely setting, they give ya unusually delicious sausage links, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and muffins, pancake machine that pops out nostalgic silver dollar pancakes, a bread/bagel toaster, several juices, cereals, cream cheese for your bagels, yogurt, hot drinks with hot chocolate an option, and milk varieties which included chocolate milk that deserved my attention for three or four return trips. Must of been an Amish concoction. The breakfast area was indeed attended by a charming Amish lass that quickly cleared our tables from used plates. Great way to start the day in Berlin, Ohio! Memories were made from our church's visit to this oasis, and we shall make it a point to make it our go to hotel for future trips to Ohio's Amish country!

Among other issues, I felt UNSAFE I was so excited to stay at the Berlin Resort for the first time. It is a beautiful property with numerous amenities and the express check-in was a breeze. There is extensive walking involved and the numerous twists and turns reminded me of the layout of the Gaylord Resort on a much, much smaller scale, of course. Upon arrival in our room I saw a large, thankfully deceased spider on the bathroom floor. Not much of a complaint there as I found comfort in the fact that it was no longer among the living which is typically indicative of recent pest treatment. The television mount in our particular room seemed to have been mounted upside down as the TV would not tilt down toward the bed for better visualization. The mount only had the ability to be tilted upward, toward the ceiling, which made no sense. Additionally the TV had wifi capabilities per the information printed on the device but it seemed to have been disabled. After attending a nearby show, I spent much of the evening exploring, taking videos and photos for my travel blog. I returned to our room for the night after exploring and videoing the indoor amenities with plans to do the same outdoors after breakfast the next morning. When I entered the room I quickly realized there was a ridiculous amount of noise coming from the room above us. I attempted to endure it for nearly 2 hours which was 2 hours longer than I should have as we couldn’t even hear the television. It sounded like whoever was above us was going to come through the ceiling. I tried to wear earplugs and could still hear the screams and thuds which were only increasing in frequency and intensity. Because I was exhausted and in a lot of pain, I redressed and went to front desk where I found the clerk, who I am being told is “Night Heather” sitting on the lobby sofa perusing the internet casually with a snack. I assume it’s her lunch and she has no other staff to relieve her (mad OT, right?). She let me know that she was an employee so I asked her to not give personal info but could she please tell me if multiple rooms were booked for room above ours and if they had kids. She asked why and I explained the situation with the ridiculous ruckus we had been enduring for over 2 hours and she then said there were 4 rooms booked for the same party and “they do have kids” with a tone that was indicative that there were several children staying with them. She said she would address the situation with them so I headed back to our room. On my way back a man was standing outside an exterior door who waved at me as though he wanted me to let him enter the hotel. It was after hours and I assumed if he belonged there he would have a key card which would allow him access to the building. I proceeded to our room and set a 15 minute timer in hopes that the noise, which was still going strong, would subside soon so that we could once again attempt the task that brought us to the resort in the beginning: sleep. It never stopped. I kept hearing door next to us shutting down I assumed the noise was disturbing other guests as well. I left the room again and when I saw the other guest in the hallway I asked if they were hearing an excessive amount of noise to which they immediately responded, “Oh, nonstop.” He said they were going to the lobby and would let the clerk know as well. I went to door of room above and filmed the outside hallway with the noise clearly coming through all walls. The door to the adjacent room then opened and I walked away quickly then turned around and lady was reading sign on exterior door about the hours. After a brief conversation I headed back to lobby and encountered the man that wanted me to let him in the hotel earlier with another guest who had let him in and he began shouting profanities saying I was the f****** b**** that wouldn’t let him in. I continued to the lobby where I found the guest from the room next to us speaking with Heather who was still sitting on the sofa with her laptop. When I told her the noise had not stopped at all she claimed she stood outside their door for 10 min and didn’t hear a peep. Since I knew the noise had not ceased for even one minute it was apparent she was being dishonest. Additionally she said she heard voices (I thought she didn’t hear “a peep”??) at which point she knocked on the door and they didn’t answer. She then saw my camera equipment from where I had been filming from the hallway and she got up and started walking toward the guest rooms. The other guest and I went back to our rooms about a minute later and ran into Heather in the hallway. I asked if she heard the noise and she said, “Oh yeah. They were running back and forth playing Marco Polo and that she told them it was their “final warning” (technically it was the first & only one). Heather then proceeded to say that a woman who answered the door had sarcastically replied, “Well I guess we will have to go bed then.” It is still unclear to me which room this woman was in as it seemed as though all of the kids were left in one room with no adult supervision. I came back to our room at 12:15 and listened to noise until at 1:09 am at which point I had already made the decision to put this so-called “resort” on blast with every platform available starting with their own website, Trip Advisor, Google, etc., taking it all the way up the ladder to owner Jerry Anderson it necessary. While we realize there is limited control over the actions of other guests, I did not receive an apology of any kind from the clerk on duty at this hotel and they should at least make an attempt at rectifying situations such as this. When I went back to the lobby a second time I reiterated how exhausted I was as well as how much pain I was in and that it was 1am at this point. Still no apology. Not even a smile or friendly attitude. Not even after I told her about the man cursing me in the hallway where I was alone with only him and the male guest who had let him in; I felt unsafe. Heather didn’t even seem alarmed about this, let alone apologetic. We could have spent our money at any other hotel or rental property in the area and I can guarantee we would have had a much better experience than at the Berlin Resort for a much lower price but I had been wanting to come to this resort for some time. Rather than special memories from our weekend trip, I am left with a feeling of disgust that we wasted our time, money, and energy at a hotel that clearly does not care for the safety and comfort of their guests and has zero compassion and hospitality.
