Hotel at a Glance: 4-Star Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa

Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa was established nearly a century ago as Bermuda’s first cottage-style accommodations. The expansive property is situated on a narrow and private peninsula surrounded by glittering ocean and bay waters; the peninsula itself has been a vacation destination – a place to experience elemental luxuries of white sands, salt air, and world-renowned sunsets – since 1923. Throughout the estate, architectural details date back to 1663.

Today, the 23-acre property includes more than eighty spacious and beautifully-appointed suites, each with private outdoor space and waterfront views. Four private beaches and two private coves were meant for discovery and exploration, while an infinity-edge swimming pool overlooks Mangrove Bay. Health, wellness, and experiential amenities abound: relax entirely in our full-service spa, embark on an adventure with our on-site scooter and two-seat vehicle rentals, or take off with the entire family on a pontoon boat from our water-sports center. Each of our three waterfront restaurants serve the freshest ingredients, and specialize in a variety of cuisines and island classics. Accessible by both land and water, Bermuda locals regularly dock their boats – or anchor and wade ashore – to enjoy the alfresco culinary experience.

  • Ocean Spa sits between Cambridge Beaches’ putting green and croquet lawn, offering relaxing treatments in a tranquil environment.
  • The 300-year-old main cottage hosts a variety of eateries, highlighted by the upscale Sunken Harbour
  • At Pastel, the poolside restaurant, you’ll find a pastel-hued wonderland of sushi rolls, ceviche, salads, sandwiches, spritzy cocktails, and their signature rainbow sherbert. Spend your afternoon lounging in the sun with a glass of rosé and a sparkling view of Mangrove Bay.
  • The Sunken Harbor Club is The Bermuda Chapter of the cocktail bar created by St. John Frizell as a dockside tavern and tropical cocktail bar with a unique dining experience created by Chef Keith DeShields that celebrates roots cuisine, including a diverse fusion of flavors with Caribbean and Portuguese influences, the menu is based on recipes passed down for generations and features truly Bermudian dishes including Bermuda shark hash, homemade callaloo pasta, and cedar smoked plantain stuffed wild boar loin.
  • Breezes only beachfront restaurant with sunset views (open seasonally, closed November through April 15th)

Bermuda: British Whimsy Meets Island Living in the Middle of the Atlantic

Life on the secluded Atlantic island of Bermuda centers on the capital city of Hamilton, where buildings awash in gentle pastels hug the harbor. The island is a part of the British Commonwealth, and reminders of England abound; check out the sculptures (and well-sculpted rose bushes) at Queen Elizabeth Park, admire the stained glass at the Anglican Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, or take afternoon tea at one of the city's many tearooms. The main drag, Front Street, is a prime spot to browse souvenirs.

The island is full of natural wonders beyond the comforts of the capital. Pink-sand beaches stretch across much of the coastline, making beautiful backdrops for sunbathing and reef-diving expeditions. The island's volcanic past is evident at Crystal Caves, where you can explore underground pools and delicate rock formations that were shaped over millions of years.

Outstanding! Had an amazing stay from the moment of arrival through the ease in the departure process! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The accommodations were beautiful! The property in whole is breathtaking. I’m a repeat guest and consider Cambridge Beaches one of the best places to stay when visiting the island!

Website misrepresentation Pictures on the website are definitely not representative of what you will arrive to when checking in. Very disappointed right from the state as we entered the area to check in. Very tired, maintenance needed in many areas, and an overall lack of attention to detail. Just not what one would expect from a resort claiming to be a luxury resort. And I definitely question some of the previous reviews posted!

14th Year Anniversary at a wonderful resort! My husband and I just returned home after celebrating our 14 year anniversary at Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa. This hotel is truly magnificent. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Hotel staff were always pleasant and helpful. This was our first time visiting Bermuda and we believe staying at this resort was the best decision. It is on the West end of the island where it was peaceful and very relaxing. The food options were great on the property. We booked through Amex which offered delicious complimentary breakfast at Pastels every morning. We typically enjoyed lunch at Breezes by the beach with spectacular ocean views! One of the perks was having H20 waterspouts company on the property. We rented a boat for a few hours for two days and enjoyed snorkeling at our own pace! Great options. We look forward to returning next year!

Nice place but has some flaws I'll start with the good stuff. The food was delicious. I really liked all of their restaurants, especially Sunken Harbor and Breezes. The beaches were really nice; a little small, but i think that is typical of Bermuda. The manager was very nice, and so was the staff. I have given several 5 star reviews (Le Toiny in St. Barths, Secret Bay in Dominica, etc), but this hotel had a lot of minor issues that added up. I could deal with 1 or 2 of these, 3 or 4 might make it a 4 star, but there were many. First, they said they would have a car waiting for us at the airport. Our flight was very delayed. I called the hotel to let them know and they told me they were keeping an eye on it. We finally landed around 2am and there was no car for us. We were lucky in that the cab taking the flight staff home had room to take us to our hotel, or we would have slept in the airport that night. The room was very nice and clean. We got a 1 bedroom Ocean View suite. I would warn that "ocean view" means you have to stand up and look over the privacy bushes to see the ocean. They had a fridge with nothing in it...ok....I called to see if we could get a few waters. Most hotels that charge $1,000 a night for a room will give you a few free waters, but not this one. The front desk said I had to order from room service, and I ordered for bottles for a total of $50! I saw later than they had bottled water at the gift shop by the front desk for $3, but they didn't tell me about those. Again, the room was very nice, but note that the shower is barely 3' x 3' and the water pressure isn't great. As for bars and restaurants, the food and service at the restaurants were very good. There's really only 2 dinner restaurants, and they rented out the main one for Saturday dinner, so we only had 1 choice that night. The bar left a lot to be desired. For all the hype they put around the Sunken Harbor bar, it doesn't really have high end liquor. If you want a nice scotch or bourbon you won't find it at the hotel. Also, one night we sat at the Sunken Harbor bar for 5 minutes. We were the only ones there, some staff walked by and saw us, but the bartender didn't come out for 5 minutes (not sure why). At the beach we ordered 2 drinks one day. The server came out and brought 1 drink and another glass with just ice. Confused, we asked if the other drink was coming and he said he didn't know. I'd agree with some other reviews that said the bar staff just seemed kind of out of whack. There we some other small things. For example, we had a basket of food we were finished with. We called the front desk and they said to leave it outside our door and they would get it. 4 hours later we got back to the room and it was still there so we brought it back ourselves. Having said all this, if I were going back to Bermuda I would stay here again. It's a lot of little annoying things that can probably be fixed with better training (except for the shower size), and maybe some very small perks like free water. I felt like the employees were engaged, but I think things just need to be held to a more exacting standard if they are charging $1,000 per night.

A return visit that didn’t disappoint! We were back for another return visit and had another wonderful time. This year friends joined us and they too loved it. We could easily fill the place up with friends who want to come with us. It’s a beautiful place with water views all around, it’s relaxing & the staff is terrific and attentive. We are so lucky that we are able to do this. It’s not a wild and crazy place, no night clubbing or a need to get dressed up. It’s a chill place, where we enjoy early morning swims, some tennis & PB & then an afternoon on H2O water sports boats, snorkeling or sightseeing. Or spend sometime in the gym . (The gym has a peloton so bring your shoes! ) Since we have been to Bermuda many times we don’t need to leave the premises for anything. We take all our meals there. There are 3 restaurants to choose from. The restaurants all have water views & great ambiance. The food is good especially breakfast. Well, the Monday night BBQ is also to die for! Not all BBQ … it also has a big sushi spread. There is music that night and lots of locals who come for the BBQ. Our room was great, nicely decorated, spacious with high end linens & a gorgeous view of the ocean. All of the rooms have water views either the ocean, or the harbor. I don’t think you can go wrong in any of them. We love Cambridge Beaches and look forward all year to our visit . If you need some R&R then this is the place for you!
