Hotel at a Glance: 4-Star Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa
Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa was established nearly a century ago as Bermuda’s first cottage-style accommodations. The expansive property is situated on a narrow and private peninsula surrounded by glittering ocean and bay waters; the peninsula itself has been a vacation destination – a place to experience elemental luxuries of white sands, salt air, and world-renowned sunsets – since 1923. Throughout the estate, architectural details date back to 1663.
Today, the 23-acre property includes more than eighty spacious and beautifully-appointed suites, each with private outdoor space and waterfront views. Four private beaches and two private coves were meant for discovery and exploration, while an infinity-edge swimming pool overlooks Mangrove Bay. Health, wellness, and experiential amenities abound: relax entirely in our full-service spa, embark on an adventure with our on-site scooter and two-seat vehicle rentals, or take off with the entire family on a pontoon boat from our water-sports center. Each of our three waterfront restaurants serve the freshest ingredients, and specialize in a variety of cuisines and island classics. Accessible by both land and water, Bermuda locals regularly dock their boats – or anchor and wade ashore – to enjoy the alfresco culinary experience.
- Ocean Spa sits between Cambridge Beaches’ putting green and croquet lawn, offering relaxing treatments in a tranquil environment.
- The 300-year-old main cottage hosts a variety of eateries, highlighted by the upscale Sunken Harbour
- At Pastel, the poolside restaurant, you’ll find a pastel-hued wonderland of sushi rolls, ceviche, salads, sandwiches, spritzy cocktails, and their signature rainbow sherbert. Spend your afternoon lounging in the sun with a glass of rosé and a sparkling view of Mangrove Bay.
- The Sunken Harbor Club is The Bermuda Chapter of the cocktail bar created by St. John Frizell as a dockside tavern and tropical cocktail bar with a unique dining experience created by Chef Keith DeShields that celebrates roots cuisine, including a diverse fusion of flavors with Caribbean and Portuguese influences, the menu is based on recipes passed down for generations and features truly Bermudian dishes including Bermuda shark hash, homemade callaloo pasta, and cedar smoked plantain stuffed wild boar loin.
- Breezes only beachfront restaurant with sunset views (open seasonally, closed November through April 15th)
Bermuda: British Whimsy Meets Island Living in the Middle of the Atlantic
Life on the secluded Atlantic island of Bermuda centers on the capital city of Hamilton, where buildings awash in gentle pastels hug the harbor. The island is a part of the British Commonwealth, and reminders of England abound; check out the sculptures (and well-sculpted rose bushes) at Queen Elizabeth Park, admire the stained glass at the Anglican Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, or take afternoon tea at one of the city's many tearooms. The main drag, Front Street, is a prime spot to browse souvenirs.
The island is full of natural wonders beyond the comforts of the capital. Pink-sand beaches stretch across much of the coastline, making beautiful backdrops for sunbathing and reef-diving expeditions. The island's volcanic past is evident at Crystal Caves, where you can explore underground pools and delicate rock formations that were shaped over millions of years.
