Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains: Hiking, Trout Fishing, and Historical Towns

The Poconos region of northeastern Pennsylvania accounts for some 2,400 square miles of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and forests. The area has been a popular vacation destination ever since Pennsylvania Quakers opened a hotel here on the Delaware River in 1829. Today, the Poconos draw more than 25 million annual visitors, thanks to year-round recreational opportunities and stunning natural scenery.

The warmer months are a great time to explore the region’s lakes and wooded hills. For spectacular hikes, check out Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where you can trek to dramatic waterfalls or follow a 27-mile section of the historic Appalachian Trail. A handful of little towns full of antique shops and galleries nestle in the mountains, too. You'll find boutique wine galleries and historical mansions tucked away on country roads, including the late 19th-century Asa Packer Mansion, which is open for tours, in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

Memories in the making Wonderful family place that both the adults and kids can enjoy. Lots of food options that is sure to fit all taste pallets. The indoor water park has slides, wave pools, basket ball courts, flow rider, and many other activities to keep the kids entertained. For the adults, there is a swim up bar and an amazing hot tub that is both in and outdoors. Mountain adventures provides outdoor activities for all ages. There is so much to do that 1 stay will not be enough!

Horrible place There is a reason this is the cheapest place. Horrible service, you walk in and there is a line out the door to check in. You literally wait to check in an hour and half. When I was finished waiting the room wasn’t ready. It’s 2 hours and counting and I still don’t have a room. No compensation for their terrible service just lost money. Oh and then they hold your bags and it takes more time to access them once they take them. I will not be returning here and I suggest you go somewhere else. If you go here don’t say you weren’t warned.
