Mont-Tremblant, Quebec: Alpine Adventure and Scenic Villages in the Laurentian Mountains

Tucked between Montreal and Québec City, Mont-Tremblant is a mountainside city made up of three regions: the old village, the pedestrian village, and Saint-Jovite. Each has its own character. The quiet old village overlooks Lac Mercier with boutiques and bistro-style restaurants. Contrast that with the pedestrian village—or “the resort,” as locals call it—which buzzes with activity from its panoramic gondola lift to its lively bars. Outdoor pursuits go on year-round here and include skiing, whitewater rafting, and ziplining.

Saint-Jovite, located about 6 miles south of the old village, used to be its own municipality before merging with the rest of Mont-Tremblant. The area still looks and feels like a small town, with most of the action centered on a main street dotted with antique shops, ice-cream parlors, and pubs with sprawling outdoor terraces.

Nice ski chalet Great location! 15 minutes drive to the lifts. Well appointed 5 bedrooms. Slept 12 people comfortably. Good sound proofing - we didn’t hear neighbours. Would have been nice to have more than 2 parking spots for that many people. Overflow parking is uphill and was full. Bring your own pans - the ones there are badly scratched up. There was NO shuttle, as was advertised - that’s a pretty important missing piece, given the parking lots by the mountain are full by 8 am on weekends.

Cap Amenities not open this winter season and bus service to the hill cancelled. I leased a condo privately for 5 months and have been pleased with the unit, although the kitchen was missing lot of items. Fortunately we have done this before and have a kitchen box we bring along with all the items that could be missing including my coffee bean grinder. Unfortunately all of the amenities, including the hot tubs are closed. The bus service that takes skiers to the hill has been cancelled this year. The only service is snow plowing. The development is 2 or 3 star at best. We have rented at the Cap before and probably will again however new renters have to know the amenities you see in pictures are not open.

Perfect place to stay We stayed here for a week of skiing and it cannot get any better - It is 10-15 mins from Mont Tremblant and you obvioulsy need your car. - Staff are very friendly especially Alex at the reception. - Close to everything. There is a grocery store very close to this resort. - Childrens play area is good. - Hot Tub works great - We worked from home during our stay and the internet was great and secure - TV was not working probably because we did not know French and we could not navigate. - Rooms are massive and the accomodation feels more like a home than a resort which is particularly important when traveling with family. WE WILL COME BACK TO STAY HERE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. Restaurant on site is not great. Maybe a 3/5. But thats probably because they hardly get many people visiting them.
