Atlanta, Georgia: Urban Parks and Renowned Aquarium in Capital of the South

Named 1 of 50 Places of a Lifetime by National Geographic, Atlanta lies near the Chattahoochee River in Georgia's northwest region known for its famed trees: magnolias, pines, and dogwoods. Despite a metropolitan population of more than five million and what is considered the world's busiest airport by passenger count, Atlanta seems to always offer a relaxing escape. Stroll through the 185 acres of botanical gardens, hiking trails, and oaks at Piedmont Park, or study one of the country's largest Civil War exhibitions at the Atlanta History Center.

Anchored by historical Peachtree Street, the city's midtown area boasts a thriving arts-and-culture scene. Opened in 1929, the Fox Theatre features imposing Egyptian architecture and a custom-made organ with a network of 3,622 pipes. Tours take place on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The High Museum of Art spotlights more than 12,000 pieces of contemporary and folk art, ranging from Renaissance paintings to photographs from the civil-rights era. Kids might better enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, located downtown at Centennial Olympic Park. One of the world's largest aquariums with more than 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water and more than 100,000 animals, the aquarium is home to beluga whales, lionfish, whale sharks, bottlenose dolphins, and more.

Great location Location was great, right next to centennial park, walking distance to the aquarium, stadiums, Coca Cola museum and bars and restaurants. The hotel was a timeshare, we managed to evade the meeting and hard sell. The rooms were very nice, well appointed, clean, comfortable and bright. The rooftop pool was awesome and the views from up there outstanding, nothing really negative to say , but the on-site Margaritaville restaurant was terrible, poor service, cold bland food and just best to avoid

Amazing views with staff that go above and beyond ❤️ We just returned from four amazing nights at this resort! From the moment we walked through the front door and were greeted by Tab at the front desk, we felt “home”. Each and every time we saw Tab, she asked how we were doing. She made sure we were enjoying our time in her city! She is in the perfect job and it shows_ Our room was spectacular! Thank you Catherine for the upgrade. With a Breathtaking view overlooking Centennial park and the city, we enjoyed the city lights and action going on below us. The floor to ceiling windows could spoil a girl_. We did use the pool, which was heated. Traveling during off season you know some amenities are “ closed”. It is the trade off for less people and we enjoy that. A special shout-out to Jeffrey in the owners lounge on the 22nd floor! We LOVED our time with you at the special events for owners. Bingo, the happy hours, and blackjack were a hoot. YOU, Jeffrey have a special way with guests, and that positively impacts their stay! Thank you for making us feel like family, we will see you on our next visit. This is not our first Margaritaville or Wyndham experience ( we are owners) , but it is our favorite resort by far! The location is perfect for doing activities in the city, but the staff make it that much more special❤️ See you the next time!

Great hotel but noisy and bad sales marketing staff This hotel would deserve a 6 stars if it was more quiet and the sales person less agressive to have you at sale marketing session. This hotel is very well located, and the rooms are wonderful and well decorated. There is a washer and dryer machines available at no charge or in your unit depending on room type. The staff are very friendly do their best to please you. The swimming pool on the 19th floor is well worth a visit, and the lounge on the 22nd floor offers a beautiful view. Hotel guests receive a 10% discount at the Margaritaville restaurant. However, the windows are not soundproofed, and on show nights, the noise is very loud and lasts late into the night. Atlanta is a clean and safe city. Call Roger Red Jacquet for a private tour. It is very interesting. Go to Stone Mountain if you can. It is fabulous. Be cautious about accepting gifts to go to timeshare sales meetings. For example, I was charged $118 for 2 tickets to the aquarium and told it was worth $170. There was also a $75 gift card and two free zoo tickets. But the real price to go to the aquarium is $50 + taxes/person (far from $170). For less than $100, I could have had a Citypass that gives access to the Aquarium, the zoo, the Coca-Cola Museum and 2 other museums. It's very difficult to get the promised $75. It is not a Visa prepaid card. It does go anywhere. In other words, do your math, don't waste your money or your time attending these sales sessions. The people at the hotel are very nice, but the salespeople and the manager are determined to be right and insist that the price of the aquarium is $170, even though it's not. It may be true on Christmas Day, but not on a weekday in October. Buy the City pass and pass your turn. If you want to buy points, call Wyndham and negotiate over the phone without pressure. If you do it on the spot, you'll lose at least a day's vacation. Remember, everything is negotiable. Make counteroffers at 50% of what you're asked and ask for bonus points. Do your homework before signing. Do you need vacation points? Can you afford the purchase price and annual fees for many years? If yes, Wyndham is for you because it's a great program if you use it every year as we do. The condos are beautiful and there's often lots of activity for the family such as ski, golf, pools and even more. It's a thousand times better than RBNB. The Wyndham Rewards program is also very interesting if you use it.
