Location could be better but overall great The only thing not perfect about this hotel was the location. The Wyndham in Alexandria has a metro stop right outside. There's no convenient metro for this location, so it can be difficult to get into Washington DC. There is a commuter bus that picks up outside the hotel on National Harbor and Waterfront. It only goes into the city in the morning until about 8am and returns only at night until about 6:30pm. It runs right into the heart of the National Mall, though, and it's only $6 per person per way. If it fits with your schedule, this is probably the best way into the city. Otherwise, Uber will be the only real choice. The hotel itself is amazing. Very modern, clean, well-decorated, and lovely. The staff are very helpful and nice. We were in the city most of the time, so we didn't really use the amenities, but there's an indoor pool and hot tub as well as a sauna. We also didn't use the laundry rooms, but there's one on every floor. They provide detergent in the hotel rooms. The rooms themselves were very spacious. We had four people in a two bedroom and it was perfect. The master bathroom had an amazing tub as well as a stand-alone shower. The National Harbor area was very nice. There were many bars and places to eat. There was a CVS next door to the hotel where we got drinks and snacks for the room. There is an amazing candy store not a far walk from the hotel. The view of the Christmas tree overlooking the harbor was incredible. There were places that offered discounts to hotel guests with your wristband. Overall, the hotel was amazing, and we're glad we picked this Wyndham. We would definitely stay again.

Almost, But some glaring deficiencies... $168.00 to park should have be disclosed in boldface, but it was not disclosed until non-refundable booking was made. Lack of a life guard or any staff at pools allowed children to run amuck and even crowed the adults who sought refuge in the hot tub. Despite ample space in 2 bedroom units, no washer/dryer units were provided. Staff that convince you to endure a 2 hour presentation/tour LIE about what gifts you will receive and don't call back when you complain. That's called FRAUD and it's illegal. But who is going to file a lawsuit over an item which retails for less than $200.00? Maybe a retired attorney with nothing better to do!

Great property great locaiton We had an excellent stay in this really lovely property. Our two bed two bath apartment was much nicer than the pictures and had obviously been recently renovated. New furniture, decor, light fixtures, all immaculate. Great kitchen, fridge had an ice maker which I really love. The laundry room was really well equipped with new machines and there's one on each floor I think. The staff were all great and very welcoming each day. There was no hard sell for the timeshares just a quick chat when we checked in but as soon as we said we were in DC for a conference that was the end. The pool area was fab and it was warm so we used it a few times. It's close to a CVS (although it isn't a great CVS and we ended up getting an Uber to the Safeway 5 minutes up the road) and there are lots of good restaurants really close by. All in all a great stay, it was good value for money and we would stay again very happily.

Birthday week was ruined at Check in This was not my 1st time at this location. The 1st time check in was quick fast,no delays. This visit I had to go through a process, 1st check in once you walked through the doors straight ahead. After checking in,now you hafta go to another desk to get your Room keys or w Wrist band but before that you have to go through a mini seminar of questions. At what point do you not see me walk in with a cane and had to stand there the whole time while you sit asking these questions??? Maybe I missed the fine print when I signed up for the Armed Forces Vacation Club for Veterans. Like I said in the beginning this was not my 1st time, my 1st time was in Las Vegas, which I had no problem or mini seminar. Now I'm being offered all these promotions for a timeshare, I'll share more on my yelp. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my stay, until. Until I went to my scheduled time and date, I was told what I would received once I checked in. The 1st thing I received was a phone call, then I received another phone call saying I didn't qualify. More on yelp at some point. The night before check out, they slip instructions on check out. Can someone please explain to me why send instructions when the housekeeper doesn't speak English, which is really not much of a problem but can they be on the same page of what time is checkout??? It clearly has instructions on how to check by 10am,which I haven't done yet. If checkout is at 10am,why is housekeeping at my door at 930am trying to explain to me she is responsible for my room??? I don't understand her and she doesn't understand me. Once again we don't have to understand each other but please understand what time is checkout or wait to be contacted to let you know that I either texted to checkout or checkout downstairs. Now I have to contact Armed Forces Vacation Club to make sure this is part of the checking in process. Don't get me wrong this is great for Veterans like myself who enjoys traveling but just want to be on the same page in the future.

National Harbor; a gem of a Resort We have visited the DELMARVA/DC area for 43 years. Only recently have we discovered this new resort called National Harbor. Located on the banks of the Potomac River, the scenic beauty is breathtaking. Our first evening was memorable in that we got to witness a stunning sunset, with the orange glow reflected on the clouds visible long after the sun had set. Airplanes on their descent to IAD (Washington Dulles) enhanced the view with the backdrop of the sunset. We could visit the Great Falls National Park and also drive on the Skyline Drive on the Shenandoah National Park/Valley. The DC-Smithsonian museums were a short 15 minute drive from the resort on I-295, I-695 and I-395. I was able to walk up to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on my morning walks. The giant screen, with the background of the river provided useful information. The Ferris Wheel added to the scenic grandeur, especially in the evenings. All said and done, it was a superb experience.
