San Diego, California: Electric Nightlife and Historical Attractions

San Diego's sunny, comfortably warm weather and 70 miles of coastline have long attracted out-of-towners, but the city's inland scene is no slouch, either. The Gaslamp Quarter is arguably the trendiest listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The area forms both the historic center of town and a hub of nightlife, with nearly 100 Victorian-era buildings occupied by high-end boutiques and gourmet restaurants.

A stroll through iconic Balboa Park takes you past 17 museums, as well as the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There's also the vibrant Spanish Village Art Center, a living gallery where local artists produce pottery and oil paintings. In Old Town, shops in Mission-style stucco buildings sell colorful woven baskets and maracas. Nearby stands the Whaley House Museum, dubbed one of the Most Terrifying Places in America by the Travel Channel. Ghosts of former residents are said to inhabit the rooms, which are filled with Victorian furniture and eerie dolls.

Very kid friendly Breakfast was awesome. Great hospitality, and very kid friendly. Kids loved going to the pool, where other kids were playing. Only thing I felt like was slightly annoying was having to go down the elevator, and go outside and around to get to the lobby.

Not bad could've been a little better. I came here on April, 17th, 2025 at 1am, front desk staff were very professional, polite, and very helpful. So bellow is the list of positives I put down and the negatives, hope this helps others. Positives-Nearby 1. Airport 2. Sea World 4. San Diego Zoo 5. USS Midway 6. Beaches 7. Various boat rides 8. And plenty more. 9. The Inn was clean, free breakfast daily, and every employee seemed polite and helpful. Especially Security Officer Benhex. Really solid guy and friendly. Negatives 1. The bed we had in the Hotel had a yellow stain on the mattress bellow the topper. stained yellow carpet near the desk like a dog peed on the floor. 2. Above room 269 it seemed like a bunch of kids running around, Hotel apparently could careless about that and smoking up and down the hall. 3. Barely any hot water for a shower!

Convenient for early morning flight. Stayed there with my son after college tours. Suite is spacious but lots of noise from the pool and the highway. Parking was convenient but I don’t understand why they need to charge so much. Easy to get to airport in the AM from the hotel. Would stay there again if we had early morning flight.
