Panama City Beach, Florida: Sugar-White Beaches and and Scuba-Diving Spots

Panama City Beach’s slogan—“The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches”—may seem boastful. But TripAdvisor helped back up this claim in 2013, naming the local St. Andrews State Park as having 1 of the top 25 beaches in the United States. The park also has two fishing piers, a jetty, and a boat ramp, plus nature trails for bird watching. Elsewhere in town, you can arrange a scuba-diving trip to explore the area’s dozens of natural and artificial reefs.

The atmosphere is relaxed and geared toward families. There are numerous amusement parks along the 20-plus miles of shoreline. Many of the popular seafood restaurants and bars here overlook the Gulf of Mexico.

If you’re looking to escape the crowds, take the ferry to Shell Island, an uninhabited, 7-mile-long barrier island. On the ride over, you might see some of the bottlenose dolphins that frequent these warm waters. Once there, you can soak in the sun on the empty beaches and go snorkeling. It’s also worth it to visit the nature preserve at Conservation Park, which has 24 miles of trails. One 11-mile trek goes past wooden boardwalks and wetlands; keep your eyes peeled and you might see woodpeckers in the trees and alligators lurking beside cypresses.

Worst hotel to stay at they don't hold up promises We had reservations a week before, We had the room for five people and the owner decided to change out the furniture and made it only four people could stay. They try to offer us a new place that cost more expensive and that they were not going to pay for it, they didn't compensate us, we got our money back but that was it. We've been going to this place for several years and this is how they treat us this is the last time we will stay here.

Great location, meh room Booked room 414 through Southern Vacations, and the room has since been "updated," so the pictures do not match. The bathroom no longer has a tub but a walk-in shower with non-existent water pressure. Half of the shower is enclosed, but there is no door or sheet, so it can get a little cold while you're showering. One good thing, they included plenty of hooks to hang wet bathing suits and towels. The TV is now mounted on the wall, but at least it's on the wall facing the bed (and not in the kitchen like many other rooms), however it only includes Roku which was a problem with college football unless you had your own TV subscription you could sign in with. The kitchen was well equipped with kitchenware. The AC blew cold air but seemed to be extra cold no matter how high we set the temp. We've stayed at 2 other units within this condo that were either better or same/worse. I'm solely giving 4 stars because of location on the beach, but you get what you pay for when it comes to booking with property mgmt company vs private owner (Airbnb).

5 + years.. cheapest on the beach and well worth it. Check them out I have booked with Continental for 5+ years. I have never had any issues. I believe that Southern Vacation Rentals have taken over booking. 5 stars all around. Service and communication was great . Condo 404 was so pretty. All the check in and door codes was thru e mail which southern vacation rentals were spot on..
