Crystal Lodge in Whistler has been engineered around the area's natural attractions, from the snowy ski hills to off-road bike trails. In the summer months, biking enthusiasts that hit the Whistler trails can make sure wheels, frames, and brakes are ready for the next run thanks to the lodge's tune-up area, bike valet, and bike-wash station. The Whistler Blackcomb ski resort spans two mountains, each more than 7,000 feet high and connected via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. In the summer, Whistler Blackcomb transforms from ski resort to bike park, with 50 miles (80 km) of lift-serviced mountain-biking trails. The warmer temperatures also allow for hiking along 19 scenic trails, including the Overlord Trail, which meanders past fields of wildflowers and glacier-fed alpine lakes. Animal lovers can take guided tours that focus on local wildlife, including black bears and whistling marmots.
