The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Bad experience I’m an RCI member, and this was one of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. Let me start by asking why are we paying an $89 daily cleaning fee when we’re staying for a week? That’s nearly $600 just for someone to come in and tidy up, which barely happened, by the way. The front desk staff? Absolutely terrible. We asked for basic things like towels and washcloths, and the woman working there acted like we were a problem. Full of attitude, unprofessional, and rude. I don’t know what’s going on with their customer service, but it was one of the worst welcomes I’ve received at any resort ever. Then, we asked a male housekeeper for help. He clearly understood us, but suddenly said, “I don’t speak English.” It was obvious he did, and it honestly felt disrespectful. If you work in hospitality, at the very least, pretend to care. To top it off, the resort itself is outdated. It looks old, tired, and in desperate need of renovation. Nothing about this place feels like a vacation it feels like a mistake. Do yourself a favor and skip Desert Rose Resort. RCI should be ashamed to have this on their list.

great choice Very friendly employees and helpful. The place was very clean. We saw people mopping the floors every day. The place we stayed was very roomy with full kitchen, living room/dining room, bedroom with king bed and nice bathroom with outer powder room. We had two closets and even a dishwasher. The balcony was great and looked at the heated pool. The employees were seen cleaning the pool area with gas grills and games area every morning and evening. Not in the middle of the strip but was quiet which we liked.
