San Juan, Puerto Rico: Cosmopolitan City with Rich Spanish Heritage and Excellent Surfing and Fishing

Located along the northeastern coast of Puerto Rico, San Juan is a city of superlatives: it's the largest city on the island, it's one of the oldest colonial cities on US territory, and it operates one of the busiest seaports in the world. And though San Juan is certainly modern, it also preserves quite a bit of its Spanish heritage. At the mouth of San Juan Bay, you'll find the blue-cobblestone streets of Old San Juan lined with museums, churches, and military forts dating back to the 16th century. The San Juan National Historic Site features well-preserved buildings such as Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a castle-like fortress built to defend the city from seaborne enemies.

Strong waves and constant winds keep windsurfers and kiteboarders busy in San Juan, and sailboats ring the marinas year-round. But the island might be best known for its deep-sea fishing. Numerous charter boats can take you out to fish for tarpon, blue marlin, and mahi-mahi.

Bought the Groupon and made a reservation. When we arrived, we were told that they couldn’t find our reservation and were booked for the weekend. They eventually found the correspondence from Groupon. Apparently their staff never input the reservation into their system. They were able to accommodate us for 1 night, but could not fulfill the 2 night reservation we made.

Stayed one night before cruise. Elevator was broken the entire time so people had to lug their luggage up multiple levels of marble. Ridiculous $75 bs fee required at checkin. Groupon alone doesn’t get you in folks. No amenities for service fee? Read small print.

Decent area crappy hotel If you want cheap without a roof - stay in an alley. If you want low cost no frills stay at this dump. From the dirty carpets and furniture to the beds and the active black mold or perhaps the iron from Juan’s yard sale along with the stained ironing board cover. There are no managers here only email and they say there are no other rooms. Not a beggars chance in hell that I would ever recommend this place to any of my friends or enemies for that matter

Stay elsewhere Apparently I didn’t read the reviews. I also missed the part where you get a code to enter the building and your room. When we arrived there was no one around and you had to email them for a code. They do get back quickly but still. No phone number. No staff anywhere. The room was all right—spacious and bright. But VERY few plugs which is an issue if you have a CPAP machine and of course, no USB ports. No toilet paper holder in the bathroom and no tissues. They did avoid using the little toiletries bottles and have big ones for the shower. No cups at all for brushing teeth or drinking. We had to ask the bartender at the adjacent restaurant who seemed to think we were unreasonable from the look he gave us. We could never get the temp right, either had to turn it off or be cold. No volume controls for the tv. Noisy on the street side and the curtains didn’t block the sun. Overall, disappointing.

Stay away-No staff no service Stay away from this. Photos are mis-leading. Worst management I have ever seen. No staff at hotel, no front desk. No parking available. Every request during stay needs to be emailed. Very poor quality bed and pillows. sofa is too bad that not a single person can sit on it. Paid more than 200$ per night but I saw far better services for much cheaper hotels than this.
